- Geodes are volcanically formed round stones, many of which are hollow (can't guarantee all!) filled with crystals or layers of agate. Your "break your own' geode should have either agate and/or crystals within.
- To safely crack your geode, first place it inside an old sock. Lay sock on top of a hard rock or concrete surface and lightly tap geode with hammer - wear safety goggles if possible.
