Seize The Day by Crystal Wright

Here's ONE way to look at things:

There is so much competition.
All the jobs are taken.
No one is working.
I can't find any work.
The economy is slow.
I don't have as many jobs this year as I had last year.
I'm not making any money

Not one of these thoughts is a solution to anything that will produce a positive result. In fact, spoken out loud they sound even worse don't they?  They strip you of the energy you need to move forward. Years ago my personal trainer would say, "Crystal, if you stop all of that huffing and puffing, you would have more energy to lift these weights, do these sit ups and generally produce the body you "SAY" you want.

Lets try this again:

The thing I love about competition is that it keeps me on top of my game.
Every time I go to the news stand, turn on the TV or open up the newspaper to look at what's playing at the movies, I notice that there seem to be more projects than ever being produced.
Everyone is working.
I have stepped up my prospecting from making no outgoing phone calls to making 10 calls a day and now I'm finding work everywhere.
Is the economy slow? I hadn't noticed. I'm more productive than ever.
At my current level of productivity, I forsee having about the same number of jobs that I had last year, but I'm working smarter and becoming a better negotiator, so I'm making more money.

Change the way you THINK about a THING, and the THING you think about will CHANGE.

In the movie Dead Poets Society with Robin Williams, he teaches his students how to see things in a new way. And when they take an action to try something new. . . . .Everything CHANGES.

This video is only 2:27. Watch. Listen. Learn. And then, think about THINGS in a new way.
